New Horizons Center for Apprenticeship & Adult Training is seeking an Electrical Apprentice Instructor to join our team, teaching Electrical RTI (Electrical Theory) for the Fall 2025-2026 school year. The position primarily covers evening classes (Mondays and Wednesdays 5:30 pm–9:00 pm) at the Woodside Lane Campus.

Appointments are course-by-course each semester. Candidates must hold Journeyman Level certification or higher, have strong communication and classroom-management skills, and at least

• Effective classroom management skills.
• Some experience training adult learners (in the field or classroom).

• Minimum of 3 consecutive years in the electrical trades performing those trade skills.

Position Summary

New Horizons Center for Apprenticeship & Adult Training is looking for a qualified Electrical Apprentice Instructor to join our exceptional team of apprenticeship-related technical instructional curriculum instructors supporting the Virginia Sponsored Apprenticeship RTI programs. We seek qualified faculty members to teach Electrical RTI (Electrical Theory) for the Fall 2025-2026 school year. The center primarily seeks individuals available to teach evening classes (Monday & Wednesday evenings from 5:30 pm-9 pm) at our Woodside Lane Campus. Faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course basis each semester as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education and experience equivalent to a Journeyman Level certification or higher.
• Familiarity with basic utilization of computer and other technologies for instruction (training provided).
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Effective classroom management skills.
• Some experience training adult learners (in the field or classroom).
• Licensed Virginia Electrical contractor or DPOR issued Journeyman or Master’s license in this specific craft area is required.
• Minimum of 3 consecutive years in the electrical trades performing those trade skills.

Selected applicant must pass a criminal background check. Documents verifying identity and eligibility to work in the United States must be presented upon employment for verification.

Salary Range

$32.00 - $45.00 per hour based on experience and Virginia DPOR license/certification.
