Job summary

Black & Veatch Family of Companies is seeking an Electrical Apprentice to shadow experienced electricians, read blueprints, diagnose issues, and assist with installing and maintaining electrical systems. You will support the planning, layout, and testing of wiring, fixtures, motors, and control systems per plans, codes and industry standards.

You will work with journeymen, learn to use hand and power tools, and participate in safety programs to prevent injuries.

Qualifications

• NCCER Construction Craft Laborer certification or equivalent.
• NCCER Core Curriculum or equivalent Craft Training Program.
• Basic knowledge of electrical wiring, conduit, fixtures and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist journeyman electrician and follow instructions.
• Learn to use hand and power tools to support wiring, conduit and installations.
• Perform minor repairs and maintain tools and equipment.
• Help with reading plans and ensuring work aligns with specifications and safety standards.
