Job summary

Knobelsdorff Enterprises in Illinois is seeking an Apprentice Electrician to join our team and grow with us on renewable and industrial projects. You will learn wiring, terminations, and field installation under supervision, while contributing to safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment and good standing in KE Apprenticeship Program.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 100%).
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varying conditions.
  • Prior documented electrical hours (if applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in pulling wire for PV string, DC and AC feeder systems.
  • Complete plug-and-play module connections and manage module leads.
  • Perform DC terminations and label wiring for string wire, combiners, and inverters.
  • Support AC terminations at inverters, transformers, and switchgear.
  • Assist in electrical testing: insulation resistance and voltage tests.
  • Interpret construction drawings and specifications to ensure accurate installs.
  • Use hand and power tools to install racking and modules per design.
  • Participate in daily safety and work planning meetings.
  • Complete tasks using KE’s internal software for reporting and documentation.
  • Learn from leadership and ask questions to gain full understanding.
  • Communicate proactively with supervisors regarding scope deviations.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be part of a team that gets things done, works with purpose, and takes pride in the results. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities may include:
