Job summary

J&J Snack Foods Corp. in Vernon, CA, is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician to perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment. You will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, install and maintain motors and conveyors, read schematics, and document activities in CMMS.

The role requires GMP/HACCP compliance and cross-functional teamwork. Pay range: $29 - $38/hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical/vocational certification or associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years EMT experience in a food manufacturing environment a plus.
• Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, SQF, etc.
• Proven ability to work with 3-phase systems, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, and mechanical assemblies.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with CMMS platforms.
• OSHA safety training or certification.
• Familiarity with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Lean Manufacturing or TPM experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities using CMMS.
• Assist in equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement projects.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns promptly and support production needs.
• Support cross-functional teams in maintaining high standards of equipment reliability and plant performance.
• Participate in safety meetings, training, and audits.

Education And Experience
