Job summary

Sofidel America seeks an Electrical Maintenance Technician to enhance efficiency at our Las Vegas Blvd site. You will perform electrical maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain robotic and motor systems to ensure continuous production and safety.

The role requires teamwork, adherence to GMP/HACCP principles, and a proactive approach to safety and cost-effective improvements in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional and technical expertise to improve efficiency of operational systems.
• Perform electrical maintenance and replace/repair components as needed at the Las Vegas Blvd site.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical failures; report conditions and recommended actions.
• Perform preventative maintenance on motors, contacts, and robotic systems as instructed.
• Maintain robotic systems and electrical components to ensure proper operation.
• Read and interpret electrical schematic wiring diagrams.

Position Overview

Provide professional and technical expertise to improve the efficiency of our operational systems, improve the quality of our products, and find more cost effective ways to meet these goals while reducing costs. Perform duties to ensure that all electrical maintenance is performed; replace and repair components and parts as needed for our Las Vegas Blvd site.

Job Responsibilities

• Supports Sofidel America’s Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP to promote a safe, sanitary and hygencially sound workplace.
• Works from verbal and written instructions as well as work orders. Communicates openly between shifts.
• Use designated computer systems to track parts in inventory.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose problems related to electrical failure, report conditions, and recommend steps to be taken.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as changing contacts, checking motors, and operation of robotic systems according to instructions of supervisor.
• Maintain the robotic systems including all mechanical, electrical and electrical components to ensure proper operation.
• PLC troubleshooting, and repair. Repair electrical and electronic systems including any electromechanical production equipment.
• Install cables, conduit, for new equipment or replacing old one
• Collaborate with other team members as necessary to resolve problems and determine the roots cause.
• Reads and uses all types of electrical schematic wiring diagrams.

Other Duties May Include

• Perform or assist with operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements.
• Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Participate in a variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED

Employee will use computer and peripherals, standard and customized software applications and tools, and usual office equipment.

Education/Experience

High School diploma and or technical school. Two plus years of experience in related area. Industrial manufacturing internship and/or co-op experience preferred.

Language Ability

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.

Math Ability

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Work Environment

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when in the plant and warehouse areas. PPE will include safety shoes, eye and ear protection, reflective vests and hairnets or hats along with any other necessary protection. Temperatures in the plant/warehouse can range a great deal from season to season. The employee will be exposed to considerable paper dust and employees will also be exposed to noise levels that will require hearing protection.
