Job summary

Sofidel America is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical, instrumentation, automation, and electromechanical systems to keep our plant running safely and efficiently.

You will support PLC/DCS systems, perform preventive maintenance, improve equipment reliability, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing floor.

Qualifications

• Two year degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Electromechanical Engineering, Automation, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
• Minimum of three years of industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, controls, instrumentation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with PLC and/or DCS programming and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical issues throughout the facility using tools, schematics, and documentation.
• Test, maintain, and repair process instrumentation such as flow meters and level transmitters.
• Perform PLC/DCS programming, diagnostics, and repair.
• Repair and maintain electrical, electronic, and electromechanical equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Collect and analyze PLC data to monitor performance and drive improvements.
• Execute preventive maintenance per plans and work orders.
• Identify issues early to prevent downtime and improve reliability.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, contractors, and vendors.

We are seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical, instrumentation, automation, and electromechanical systems to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. The position also supports PLC/DCS systems, preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues throughout the facility using appropriate tools, software, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot, test, maintain, and repair process instrumentation, including flow meters, level transmitters, level switches, and related equipment.
• Perform PLC/DCS programming, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair.
• Repair and maintain electrical, electronic, and electromechanical production equipment and systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, user manuals, and equipment documentation.
• Collect and analyze PLC input and output data to monitor equipment performance and assist with operational improvements.
• Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with approved maintenance plans and work orders.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance inspections of plant equipment and identify potential issues before they result in equipment failure or downtime.
• Work with internal departments and external resources to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues quickly and effectively.
• Continually identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, operational efficiency, product quality, and overall process performance.
• Assist Management and Engineering with equipment installations, upgrades, modifications, and technical projects as needed.
• Provide technical guidance and training to employees, particularly related to electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Coordinate and work with contractors and vendors to support maintenance activities and improve equipment efficiency and output.
• Follow all company safety procedures and safe work practices while maintaining sanitary conditions and product quality standards.

Job Requirements

• Two year degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Electromechanical Engineering, Automation, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant experience will also be considered.
• Minimum of three years of industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, controls, instrumentation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with PLC and/or DCS programming and troubleshooting.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining process instrumentation and electromechanical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, contractors, and equipment vendors.
