Overview

The E&I Maintenance Technician position is part of a Maintenance Team that may support the paper machine and/or converting areas of the mill. The position coordinates closely with the operations teams as customers of the reliability centered maintenance support services the maintenance team is responsible for delivering. The E&I Maintenance Technician position reports to the Maintenance or Electrical Supervisor of the respective area they are assigned. This is an hourly paid position that works a rotating shift schedule. The facility operates on a 24 hour, 7 day per week basis. There are both day (Monday thru Friday) assignments and shift assignments. It is expected that all of our E&I Maintenance Technicians fill both day and shift roles over the course of time.

Base pay range

$44.21/hr - $44.21/hr

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the processes are maintained in a preventative fashion to ensure optimum reliability and uptime.
  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment and troubleshoot circuit problems; apply theory and related knowledge to install, rebuild, or repair electrical equipment as needed.
  • Assist with all service calls while on duty. Ensure all required tools, parts and supplies are available for each job; complete required service records; and recommend and/or initiate equipment modifications and/or replacement of electrical components.
  • Support and learn Mechanical Maintenance skills and tasks as necessary.
  • Backfill operations personnel when required and proactively assist operations personnel in daily activities to meet organizational objectives.
  • Maintain safety for themselves and others; follow safety rules and safe work procedures; report injuries and near misses; participate in accident/incident investigations; maintain housekeeping; participate in safety meetings, training opportunities; follow Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, PPE, etc.; lead crew discussions prior to major events with Job Hazard Analyses.
  • Ensure crew has adequate safety equipment; perform First Responder responsibilities as trained.
  • Adhere to quality conformance and diligence specifications; act as a quality advocate; support corrective actions for defects; ensure work meets quality standards.
  • Operate and troubleshoot machines, read and diagnose using DCS, MDC, PLCs; troubleshoot ProfiBus and EtherNet/IP communication control issues with diagnostic equipment; troubleshoot paper machine coordinated drives.
  • Maintain spares to ensure equipment availability; utilize and maintain SAP Plant Maintenance System for work orders and documentation.
  • Manage costs wisely, reduce waste, and proactively resolve issues; reduce Stores inventory by increasing reliability through predictive monitoring and preventative maintenance; debottleneck operations by addressing upcoming production needs.
  • Perform basic care rounds and maintain equipment as specified by Reliability-Centered Maintenance requirements; initiate and assist in equipment repair as needed.
  • Participate in organizational improvement teams (Safety Committees, Quality Improvement, Productivity/Cost Reductions, etc.) and share knowledge to train/mentor others in safety training, control systems, troubleshooting, and related skills.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Bennett Testing (Electrical and Instrumentation, Mechanical, Core Abilities)
  • Electrical and PLC Aptitude (STM Assessment)
  • 2 year technical degree or 5 years industrial work experience in relevant electrical field
  • Minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience
  • Electrical license or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • A record of stable & continuous employment
  • Must be computer literate
  • Professional communication skills
  • Self-motivated able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, and stand for long periods with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Ability to work in hot, humid, noisy and high-volume production areas
  • Ability and willingness to wear PPE as required
  • Must be able to meet attendance expectation
