Ember Grey in Oklahoma City is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrument Reliability Program Manager to lead reliability strategy for a major chemical manufacturing organization. You will drive asset reliability, equipment availability, and maintenance performance across four operating sites, acting as SME for electrical, instrumentation, and controls.

This senior role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 10+ years in petrochemical/chemical manufacturing, and strong RCA/FMEA,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in petrochemical, refining, chemical manufacturing, or similar process environments.
  • Strong experience with electrical, instrumentation, and controls systems in industrial facilities.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement reliability and maintenance strategies.
  • Knowledge of RCA, FMEA, condition-based maintenance, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with IEEE, ISA, NFPA, NEC, and API standards.
  • Strong understanding of PSM and SIS.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement electrical, instrumentation, and controls reliability program across four sites.
  • Act as SME for reliable design, operation, and maintenance of electrical assets.
  • Lead RCA, FMEA, and root cause analyses to address failures and safety issues.
  • Drive shift from time-based to condition-based and predictive maintenance.
  • Contribute to capital projects ensuring reliability in design and execution.
  • Support HAZOP, LOPA, PHA, and SIL activities with SIS expertise.
  • Advance NEC compliance and electrical system improvements.
  • Develop models and studies (short-circuit, coordination, arc-flash) using SKM.
  • Create reliability strategies, lifecycle plans, standards, and critical spares.
  • Share best practices and mentor site engineering and maintenance teams.

Seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrument Reliability Program Manager to lead electrical, instrumentation, and controls reliability strategy for a leading chemical manufacturing organization based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This is a high-impact corporate role focused on improving asset reliability, equipment availability, and maintenance performance across multiple operating facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the company's electrical, instrumentation, and controls reliability program across four operating sites
  • Act as a technical subject matter expert for the reliable design, operation, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation assets
  • Lead failure analysis, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and FMEA activities to address recurring equipment failures, downtime, and safety issues
  • Drive the transition from time-based maintenance toward condition-based and predictive maintenance strategies where appropriate
  • Provide technical input into capital projects, ensuring electrical and instrumentation reliability is incorporated into project design and execution
  • Support HAZOP, LOPA, PHA, and SIL determination activities, providing expertise in instrumentation and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
  • Drive electrical reliability and integrity initiatives, including NEC compliance and electrical system improvements
  • Develop and maintain electrical system engineering models, including short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash studies using SKM
  • Develop reliability strategies, lifecycle plans, equipment standards, and critical spares recommendations for E&I assets
  • Establish and share best practices across operating facilities while coaching and mentoring site engineering and maintenance teams
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 10+ years of experience within petrochemical, refining, chemical manufacturing, or a similar process manufacturing environment
  • Strong experience across electrical, instrumentation, and controls systems within industrial facilities
  • Proven experience developing and implementing equipment reliability and maintenance strategies
  • Strong understanding of RCA, FMEA, condition-based maintenance, and asset lifecycle management
  • Knowledge of relevant IEEE, ISA, NFPA, NEC, and API standards
  • Strong understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) and Safety Instrumented Systems
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive organisational change
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with SKM and electrical system studies, including short circuit, coordination, and arc flash
  • PSM, SIS, IEC 61511, ISA 84, and SIL verification experience
  • Experience participating in HAZOP, LOPA, PHA, and other process safety studies
  • Experience developing multi-site reliability programs or corporate engineering standards
  • Experience with electrical utility relationships and power supply reliability
  • Background supporting large-scale capital projects and turnarounds
