Job summary

ISC Constructors, L.L.C. seeks an experienced Industrial and Electrical Designer to contribute to a range of design tasks for medium-sized projects. The role requires independent judgment in evaluating and adapting standard design techniques and criteria on assignments.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in design, strong English communication, and the ability to coordinate with engineers and designers while delivering accurate sketches, specifications, and design drawings.

The Position:

We are looking for an experienced Industrial and Electrical Designer with a wide variety of abilities that complements ISC’s culture of integrity. This position Performs phases of design work for a project of moderate size and complexity. The incumbent must be fully competent in all conventional aspects of design and be capable of planning and conducting tasks requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Qualifications:

• Normally requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in design (or equivalent working knowledge/experience).
• This is the mid ‑ level of design and requires limited experience in utilizing various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients, managers, designers and engineers.
• Must read, understand, and speak fluent English.

Mathematical Skills:

• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Ability to read and understand units of measure for length, area and volume.

Physical Demands:

• Occasionally may conduct or participate in a field trip to an operating plant or construction site. This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.
• Normal work environment will be a business office with moderate noise. Occasionally may visit or be temporarily assigned to work in an operating plant or at a construction site. This may require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, work near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals and airborne particles.
