Job summary

Dominion Energy is offering a Data Systems Analyst internship with the Electric Transmission Asset Management team. You will help develop data systems, write SQL queries, and build dashboards that improve visibility for asset management and end users.

You'll collaborate with engineering, compliance, and IT colleagues through the full application development lifecycle, from discovery to deployment and ongoing support, while upholding safety and ethics standards.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's program with expected graduation Spring 2028/2029.
• Foundational knowledge of software concepts.
• Strong data analysis and critical thinking.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of operating systems.

Job Summary

The Electric Transmission Digital Solutions Team develops custom applications and data-driven dashboards that help ET use asset data to make informed decisions, track asset health and, support safe, reliable power delivery across the transmission fleet.

This internship position will support Electric Transmission Asset Management through the development and maintenance of data systems used for substation equipment monitoring, data analytics, and records management. The selected candidate will assist with gathering business requirements, developing SQL queries and programming code, creating custom applications and dashboards, and supporting data-driven tools that enhance visibility for end users and asset management customers. Under the direction of experienced team members, the intern will gain practical exposure to engineering, compliance, asset management, and the full application development lifecycle, including customer discovery, requirements definition, dashboard development, deployment, and ongoing support. The intern is expected to demonstrate Dominion’s values and uphold the company’s commitment to safety, ethics, and inclusion throughout the assignment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

This position requires a foundational understanding of custom application development and the ability to apply academic knowledge to practical business scenarios. The Data Systems Analyst intern should demonstrate the following:

Degree: Bachelor's

Desired Majors: Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics

Hourly Rate:

$21.00 - $28.00

The hourly rate listed is the rate we anticipate paying for this position. If a range is listed, the actual hourly rate offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate's degree type, academic major, and/or school classification (e.g., sophomore, junior, senior).
