The role focuses on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing basic generator and engine failures at customer sites, with a 1st shift schedule and a starting range of $29.51–$41.04 per hour. Minimum three years of EPG/electronics field experience qualifies for the $10,000 sign-on bonus; less experience earns a $2,000 bonus.

Job Title: Electric Power Generation (EPG) Field Technician

Location: Chesapeake, Virginia

Shift: 1st

Starting Compensation Range: $29.51 – $41.04 per hour

The Electric Power Generation (EPG) Field Technician position is responsible for accurately diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing basic operational failures to electrical generator systems and related basic engine failures at customer sites.

Minimum of three years' relevant Electrical Power Generation (EPG)/electronics field experience required to be eligible for the $10,000 sign-on bonus. Candidates with less than 3 years’ Electrical Power Generation (EPG)/electronics field experience are eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus.

Requirements for the EPG Field Technician position include:

• Must have excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Must have excellent mechanical aptitude
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to interact professionally with customers and all of levels of personnel within the organization
• Must be a strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Must be able to perform well under stressful situations
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to learn and apply new knowledge
• Must be a self-directed and well organized with the ability to prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service
• Excellent driving record required with the ability to obtain a CDL and/or DOT certification
• Must be able to work additional hours as required and travel out of town, including out of the country to meet customers’ demands
• Must be proficient in the use of technical software, databases and manuals

Seeking Candidates with:

• Previous field environment
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting basic engine failures and performing light mechanical repairs to electrical generator systems and related equipment
• High school diploma or GED, required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, carry and maneuver items up to 70 pounds, including bulky objects
• Repeated reaching, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending and climbing
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
