Job summary

Ajinomoto Foods North America in Portland is seeking an Electric Pallet Jack Operator to join our refrigerated production team. You will operate the EPJ, pack bagged product, and stack cases on pallets starting at $18/hour.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm with occasional Saturdays. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance on DAY ONE, company-paid STD/LTD/Life, 401(k) with company match, vacation, and wellness programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English required.

Responsibilities

• Operate EPJ and pack bagged product into boxes and stack cases on pallets.
• Ensure proper stacking and placement of finished cases on pallets.
• Monitor packing equipment and communicate issues to the Lead.
• Follow GMP and sanitation practices and safety rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We are looking for an Electric Pallet Jack Operator to join our rapidly expanding team in the Portland area. The Electric Pallet Jack Operator is responsible for, operating the EPJ, packing bagged product into boxes and/or stacking cases onto pallets in a refrigerated environment. Essential Functions include but are not limited to inspecting, monitoring, and communicating problems with equipment or product to the Lead.

Schedules are typically Monday - Friday starting at 6:00am, 8–10-hour shifts with occassional Saturdays.

Starting pay is $18.00/hr

Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure proper coding and sealing of bags and boxes before packing into cases or onto pallets.
• Ensure proper stacking and placement of finished cases on pallets.
• Understand different case packs and weight ranges of product.
• Understand Company quality standards for product defects and immediately report excessive defect levels.
• Monitor packing equipment to ensure everything is working correctly.
• Communicate with co-workers at shift change regarding situations that have or may impact production operation.
• Demonstrate good working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Sanitation Practices (GSP).
• Perform work within Company quality standards and governmental regulatory standards.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Practice 5s and clean as you go.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
