Job summary

Halff is seeking a Senior Electric Distribution Engineer and Team Leader in Houston, TX. You will lead an experienced distribution team, manage design and delivery of overhead and underground projects, and build strong client partnerships while growing business opportunities.

Ideal candidates have a Texas PE license, ABET-approved degree, and a track record of guiding projects and teams to high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Active Texas PE license in good standing.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years of experience managing the design and delivery of overhead and underground electric distribution systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and electric utility design software.
• Experience with CAD-based and GIS-based design tools for electric power infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of applicable industry codes and standards, including NESC and NEC.
• Demonstrated success leading projects, managing teams, and delivering high-quality client solutions.
• Proven business development and client relationship management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing Electric Distribution team with technical guidance and leadership.
• Manage team performance, workload planning, staffing, quality, profitability, and overall operations.
• Oversee design and delivery of overhead and underground projects from moderate to complex scope.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and meet client requirements and industry standards.
• Direct project managers and technical staff while maintaining accountability for execution and client satisfaction.
• Establish and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted advisor and primary contact.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities and support growth initiatives.

As our Electric Power Delivery practice continues to grow, Halff is seeking an experienced Senior Electric Distribution Engineer (PE) to join our Energy team as Team Leader in our Houston, Texas office location. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced engineer with a passion for technical excellence, team development, client relationships, and business growth.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience managing the design and delivery of overhead and underground electric distribution systems for cooperatives, municipalities, or investor-owned utilities.

What You Will Do

What You Will Need
