Job summary

NEW BRAUNFELS UTILITIES in New Braunfels, TX is seeking an Electric Distribution Designer to analyze, design, and support electric line extensions, upgrades and service availability. You will work with customers to determine requirements and develop safe, cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities include coordinating with field staff, preparing design drawings, submitting permits, and maintaining clear documentation while ensuring compliance with safety and company policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; TEC Design Technician certification Level III within four years.
• Valid Texas Driver's License required.
• Strong electrical design knowledge and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers and internal teams.
• Willingness to work overtime during busy periods.

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers to determine job requirements and scope.
• Prepare design proposals, drawings, and cost evaluations.
• Coordinate work between customers and Electric Operations Division.
• Submit locate requests and permits as needed.
• Update design documents and as-built records.
