Job summary

The AES Corporation is seeking a Design Technician II for the 1st shift at the Dayton Service Center in Ohio. The role focuses on designing electric distribution facilities, three-phase extensions, and enabling safe, compliant work orders under directive supervision.

Qualified candidates will hold an associate degree or journeyman license and pass the internal tech test. Strong collaboration with customers and internal teams is essential, with a focus on accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Pass the EEI Tech Test or other Company approved aptitude test.
• Meet one of the following criteria: associate’s degree in listed engineering fields orJourneyman electrician license or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Design electric distribution projects under directive supervision.
• Prepare designs for three-phase extensions and replacements.
• Update and maintain electric maps and outage management data.
• Ensure compliance with AES Ohio standards, NEC, NESC, and safety rules.
• Interact with customers, developers, architects and other AES personnel.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical direction onsite.
