Job summary

Interstates is seeking an Apprentice Electrician to support electrical and controls work on industrial sites across our Kansas footprint. You’ll learn by doing, assisting journeymen and foremen while growing through hands-on training and safety-driven practices.

Applicants should pursue licensure through our Electrical Apprenticeship Program and may hold a certificate or AS degree in relevant electrical fields.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be enrolled in or seeking licensure through our Electrical Apprenticeship Program.
• Certificate or AS degree in electrical technology, electrical construction, instrumentation or similar is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, and bend conduit using tape measure and appropriate tools.
• Operate power tools such as drills, saws, pullers, and tuggers.
• Install conductors in raceway and cable tray using manual and power equipment.
• Assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening wires, conduit, and motors.
• Perform minor repairs such as replacing fuses and switches.
• Disassemble defective electrical equipment using appropriate tools.
• Load and furnish Journeyman and Foreman electricians with materials and supplies.
• Use ladders, scaffolding, and lifts; perform housekeeping as required.
• Follow safety standards to protect well-being on site.
• Other duties as assigned by field leaders.
