Tennessee Department of State - Division of Elections is seeking an Assistant Director for Election Technology to lead statewide election tech strategy, cybersecurity, data governance, and system oversight. You will coordinate with state IT and county officials to ensure secure, compliant technology across Tennessee's election ecosystem.

The role supervises two staff and reports to the Coordinator of Elections, aligning IT capabilities with regulatory requirements and program goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher in CS/IS/Cybersecurity/IT or related fields.
• Master's degree preferred for advanced leadership.
• Experience leading IT programs in government or critical infrastructure is valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead statewide election technology strategy and governance.
• Coordinate operation of state election tech systems and apps.
• Develop cybersecurity policies and incident response plans.
• Oversee data governance for voter registration and election data.
• Manage budgeting, procurement, and vendor performance.
• Provide guidance to 95 county election commissions.
• Deliver training and analytics reporting.
