Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and at least three years of relevant professional experience.
• Equivalency may be considered with education, training, and experience providing required knowledge and abilities.
• Complete NC Elections Administrator Certification within three years of employment.
• Complete NC State Board of Elections Treasurer Training within six months of employment.
• Possess and maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s license and driving record meeting county requirements.

Responsibilities

• Directs and organizes daily operations of the Board of Elections office.
• Administers voter registration, early voting, absentee voting, Election Day voting, canvassing, recounts and post-election procedures.
• Represents the Board as a county department head and handles personnel duties with Board guidance.
• Prepares the annual departmental budget and coordinates with municipalities on election matters.
• Maintains board records, prepares agendas and communicates with the public and Board members.
• Oversees training for precinct officials and ensures election materials and equipment are properly managed.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent, 3+ years experience

NC Elections Administrator Certification (within 3 years)

NC State Board of Elections Treasurer Training (within 6 months)

Valid NC driver's license
