We offer a hybrid work schedule (one week in the office, one week of teleworking) to accommodate flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate experience, will be considered.

Job Summary

This posting is for vacancies in both the Distribution Grid Planning Modeling & Analysis Team and the Distribution Protection & Coordination Team. The role involves providing engineering support, performing calculations, analysis, research, and design, along with cost analysis and recommendations for management review. The role exercises independence under supervision, with clear objectives and moderate complexity.

Candidates should have a strong electrical engineering background, preferably in electric power systems, with knowledge of engineering principles and practices.

The Distribution Grid Planning - Modeling and Analysis Team

The candidate will support Grid Planning, Resiliency, Modernization, and Long-range Distribution Planning through system studies, analysis, and modeling.

Job Activities
  • Perform assignments with the required knowledge, skills, and experience
  • Exercise independent judgment and decision-making
  • Utilize resources to develop solutions and improve processes
  • Maintain data for load and DER forecasting
  • Perform power system modeling and analysis
  • Develop long-range plans for distribution grid needs
  • Evaluate infrastructure interdependencies and support design activities
The Distribution Coordination & Protection position

This role involves studying protective device coordination and circuit protection, sizing and setting protection equipment, and ensuring system safety and reliability.

Minimum Requirements
  • Associate Engineer: <2 years relevant experience
  • Engineer: 2+ years
  • Senior Engineer: 5+ years
  • Staff Engineer: 8+ years
  • Engineering Tech Specialist I: <3 years
  • Engineering Tech Specialist II: 3+ years
  • Engineering Tech Specialist III: 5+ years
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Engineering principles, configuration management, planning, leadership, decision-making, communication, analytical skills
  • Experience with power flow analysis, substation equipment, relay operations, power system modeling software (e.g., Synergi Electric, CYME, PSS/E, MATLAB)
  • Programming skills (Python, C#, SQL, etc.) preferred
Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related STEM field. Specific criteria for engineering licensure and accreditation are detailed.

Working Conditions
