ABB's Distribution Solutions Division in Mebane, NC is seeking a Supplier Quality and Development Engineer to lead test protocols and ensure parts meet specs. Onsite role reporting to SQE/SDE.

You will train teams, report quality issues, and collaborate to improve protocols; requires 2+ years manufacturing, ISO 9001 familiarity, and SAP/MES experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Skilled in using measurement and inspection tools.
  • Experience with non-conformance documentation preferred.
  • Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Basic knowledge of statistical analysis tools.
  • Experience with ERP or MES systems (SAP preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts test protocols to ensure parts, products, and systems meet requirements and customer expectations.
  • Supports quality control for supplier, production, testing and validation activities.
  • Trains local operational teams in QA and testing routines and ensures testing per control plans.
  • Reports quality issues data and adheres to the quality management system at all stages.
  • Collaborates to improve test protocols and capability for greater efficiency and accuracy.
  • Evaluates metrics to determine compliance with requirements.
