Job summary

ABB is seeking an experienced Wire Harness Assembler to join our onsite team in Mebane, NC. You will perform diverse assembly tasks, including cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, and terminating wires on harness boards per engineering drawings.

Quality checks and testing are part of the daily routine. You will operate semi-automatic wire processing machines, set up a digital guided assembly station, and maintain a clean, safe work area while following SOPs.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required
  • Knowledge and use of tools - tape measure, crimpers, wire cutters, wire strippers, or other hand tools
  • Ability to safely use a ladder while performing the job, as needed
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 40lbs

The work model for the role is: Onsite, Mebane, NC

Your role and responsibilities:
  • Conducts all types of assembly work to produce wire harnesses by cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, and terminating wires on harness boards based on engineering drawings and best practices.
  • Performs regular quality control and testing as part of a defined production process manually using continuity testers or atomically using custom testing devices. Performs rework if needed.
