Texarkana Reformed Baptist Church is seeking a biblically qualified bivocational elder/evangelist to reach the Texarkana community with the gospel within a relational, gospel-centered framework.

The role emphasizes personal evangelism, discipleship, and collaboration with church elders. A stipend is provided and fundraising support may be pursued to sustain ministry, including outreach to college campuses, housing communities, and local ministries.

Qualifications

• Born-again believer with a passion for evangelism and a robust view of Reformed Baptist theology.
• Strong personal relationship with Christ and commitment to biblical eldership and gospel proclamation.
• Experience in personal evangelism, discipleship, and outreach ministry (formal or informal).
• Ability and willingness to raise financial support and develop partnerships for ministry.

Responsabilités

We offer Sunday School for all ages and provide a nursery as needed. TRBC is an Elder led church. We seek to faithfully proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ through expository preaching, sound doctrine, discipleship, and missions. Our mission is to worship God rightly, disciple believers deeply, and proclaim the gospel faithfully in our community and beyond. TRBC has always been committed to biblical Eldership. We believe that the church functions best with a plurality of Elders. We currently have one vocational Elder.Position Overview: Texarkana Reformed Baptist Church is seeking a biblically qualified Bivocational Elder. We are searching for an Elder qualified man to serve as an Elder who will serve as an evangelist to those who need the gospel in Texarkana. This role focuses on personal evangelism and discipleship within the 5-mile radius surrounding our church. This is not primarily an open-air preaching role but rather a relational, gospel-centered outreach ministry that seeks to engage the lost, disciple new believers, and equip the church for evangelism.The church will provide a stipend, but this could be a support-raised position, if the candidate is willing to develop financial partnerships with individuals and churches who believe in the mission of gospel proclamation.Responsibilities Preach, teach, lead as needed Engage in personal, relational evangelism within the 5-mile radius around Texarkana Reformed Baptist Church. There are many gospel opportunities on college campuses, low income housing, door to door evangelism, and our monthly food distribution outreach Develop and implement gospel outreach strategies such as home Bible studies, community engagement, and evangelistic discipleship. Work alongside the elders to equip and encourage church members in biblical evangelism. Engage with those struggling with addiction, homelessness, and poverty, sharing the gospel while providing biblical hope and practical discipleship. Assist in outreach events such as VBS, Fall Festivals, and other church-hosted gatherings to maximize their gospel impact. Disciple new converts, helping them grow in Christ and integrate into the church. Assist in various ministries within the church, including teaching opportunities as needed. QualificationsA born-again believer with a strong, personal relationship with Christ and a passion for evangelism. A strong commitment to Reformed Baptist theology and substantial agreement with the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith. A deep love for all kinds of people, regardless of background, and a heart to see them come to Christ. A strong desire for people to become true followers of Jesus, not just religious adherents. Experience in personal evangelism, discipleship, and outreach ministry (formal or informal). A heart for ministering to those affected by addiction and homelessness pointing them to Christ. A humble, teachable spirit and willingness to serve under the oversight of the church elders. A heart for hospitality and building meaningful, gospel-centered relationships. A demonstrated ability (or willingness) to raise financial support for ministry. A life that meets the biblical qualifications of a minister (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9). Support & AccountabilityThis is a support-raised position, meaning the evangelist/missionary will develop financial partnerships for their ministry. While Texarkana Reformed Baptist Church will provide oversight, prayer, encouragement, and accountability, we cannot provide a full salary.However, our vocational elder, Matt Smart, will assist in fundraising and be a support throughout the process. He has extensive experience in evangelistic ministry and will help guide and encourage the evangelist/missionary as they step into this role.The evangelist/missionary will work closely with the elders and church body, ensuring that evangelistic efforts are biblically faithful, theologically sound, and church-centered.Texarkana needs the gospel and TRBC greatly desires to glorify God through evangelism and discipleship.
