Job summary

Safe Harbor Home Care is seeking compassionate Personal Care Attendants to provide non-medical in-home support for clients in San Diego. Responsibilities include bathing, dressing, grooming, meal prep, and mobility assistance, helping clients stay independent at home.

Onboarding includes state registry clearance, TB test, and required California licenses; drivers and vehicle insurance are preferred. Weekly pay, flexible hours, growth opportunities, and referrals bonuses are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Valid I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documents
• Able to obtain clearance on Home Care Aide Registry during onboarding
• Current Tuberculosis (TB) certificate
• Registered with state of CA and active HCA number
• Completed LIC 508 Criminal Record Statement
• Completed LIC 501 Personnel Record
• Completed SOC 341A Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Suspected Abuse
• Minimum of five hours entry-level orientation prior to presence with client(s)

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical personal care and assistance (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, mobility) to clients in their home or community
• Assist with medication reminders for clients who self-administer
• Perform light housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, laundry
• Assist with transfers, ambulation and positioning
• Provide companionship and respect for client dignity while delivering care

Job Description Summary

• Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers provide non-medical service and assistance to a client in their home and communities, who, because of advanced age or physical or mental disability, cannot perform these services. These services enable the client to remain in his or her residence and include, but are not limited to, assistance with the following: bathing, dressing, feeding, exercising, personal hygiene and grooming, transferring, ambulating, positioning, toileting and incontinence care, assisting with medication that the client self-administers, housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, laundry, transportation, correspondence, making telephone calls, shopping for personal care items or groceries, and companionship.
• Personal Care Attendant-Caregivers are responsible for ensuring that service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant Agency policies, industry standards, and state regulations.

Eligibility Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• Valid I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification documents

Able to obtain during onboarding process

• Clearance Verified on the Home Care Aide Registry
• Current Tuberculosis (TB) certificate

• Completed “Criminal Record Statement” (LIC 508)
• Complete “Personnel Record” (LIC 501)
• Complete “Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Suspected Abuse of Dependent Adults and Elders” (SOC 341A)
• Minimum of five (5) hours entry-level orientation training prior to presence with client(s)

Preferred

• Current drivers’ license (if transporting clients or running errands)
• Valid vehicle insurance coverage (required if using vehicle during shifts)
