Job summary

Norristown Area School District is seeking an ELD Instructional Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports ELL placement, data-driven instruction, classroom coaching, and professional development for staff.

Responsibilities include leading WIDA assessments, modeling best practices for English learners, and collaborating with content-area teachers to improve outcomes for diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from a four-year college or university.
• PA ESL Program Specialist Certification.
• Minimum of five years experience teaching ELD.
• FBI, Criminal Background, and Child Abuse clearances.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessment and placement of English learners and make placement recommendations.
• Disaggregate and analyze ELD and academic achievement data to target instruction, enhance student learning, and inform teacher practice.
• Conduct classroom observations to provide constructive feedback and assistance with improving instruction for English learners.
• Model best practices in ELD instruction for content area teachers to increase student engagement and academic achievement.
• Assist classroom teachers in recognizing and responding to the multiple needs of diverse learners.
• Guide content area teachers in the development of common assessments that address clear content and language outcomes.
• Facilitate ongoing professional development for staff on the integration of appropriate technology and resources to support culturally and linguistically diverse learners.
• Convene or participate in meetings for the purpose of receiving and providing program and curriculum information in support of English Learners.
• Demonstrate instructional leadership and professionalism.
• Assist with the administration of the annual WIDA ACCESS for ELLs.
• Perform other position-related duties as assigned.

• experience calculated per contract agreement not to exceed step 10
• Bachelor's - $62,663-$78,539 ( step 10)
• Bachelor's + 24 - $67,760-$87,165 ( step 10)
• Master's - $72,133-$95,070 ( step 10)
• Master's + 15 - $75,276-$99,400 ( step 10)
• Master's + 30 - $78,419-$103,698 ( step 10)
• Master's + 45 - $78,944-$104,289 ( step 10)
