Job summary

Amazon in Boston is seeking a technical leader to set the vision for one of AWS's critical storage services. You will guide multiple engineering teams building scalable, fully managed cloud file storage, impacting millions of file systems and exabytes of data.

You will lead with a focus on architecture, roadmap, and operational excellence, collaborating with S3, EBS, FSx teams to deliver cohesive cloud storage solutions. The role blends strategic leadership with hands-on technical engagement.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience.
• 5+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and develop engineering leadership: hire, mentor, and advance leaders and engineers.
• Define strategic technical vision: own a 3–5 year roadmap for a critical AWS storage area.
• Drive architectural excellence: contribute to distributed systems design and improve security and maintainability.
• Influence across organizational boundaries: partner with AWS teams to align direction and roadmaps.
• Establish operational excellence: inspect service quality and foster continuous improvement.
