Job summary

Monroe County Schools seeks an ELA/Math After School Instructor for Peterstown Middle School. This contract/hourly position runs Tue and Thu from 3:40 to 5:30 pm, Oct 27, 2026 through May 6, 2027, at $25.00 per hour.

The role requires a valid highly qualified teaching certificate and entails communication with families and teachers and data-tracking planning time. Hours are capped by student participation and weather; planning time is provided weekly.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid highly qualified teaching certificate to cover above grade levels.
• Experience tutoring or instruction in after-school programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide after-school tutoring in Reading/English/Language Arts and Math.
• Communicate with parents and teachers of participating students.
• Participate in weekly planning time for data tracking as part of ELA/Math plans.
• Deliver sessions Tue and Thu, 3:40–5:30 pm, up to two hours per day.

Job Description:

• Tuesday and Thursday only, up to two hours in after school sessions per day, dependent upon student participation.
• Tutoring will be cancelled on days that no students participate or for inclement weather.
• These sessions will be focused in the curriculum area of Reading/English/Language Arts and Math.
• Successful applicants will have the responsibility to communicate with parents and teachers of students who are eligible for the program.
• One-hour planning time will be provided weekly for the purpose of data tracking as part of the expectations of the county ELA Plan and Math Plan.
• The daily schedule for in-person tutoring will be as follows: 3:40 to 5:30 pm.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a valid highly qualified teaching certificate to cover above grade levels
• $25.00 per hour

Effective Date:

• October 27, 2026, through May 6, 2027.
