Qualifications

• Must be highly qualified with competency in English content
• Licensure for appropriate English content area and grade level (Elementary, Middle or High School) per Massachusetts DESE
• Bachelor's Degree with appropriate license or Master’s Degree with content license preferred within 5 years

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at times designated
• Plans a program of study that meets individual needs and abilities of students
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students' maturity and interests
• Guides learning toward district curriculum goals and communicates clear objectives
• Maintains accurate student records as required by policy and law
• Assesses student progress and communicates with parents as deemed necessary
• Participates in district-wide meetings and professional development
• Complies with district code of conduct and professional expectations

Education

Massachusetts DESE English content licensure (appropriate grade level)

Bachelor's Degree with appropriate license

Master's Degree with appropriate content license preferred
