Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education from an accredited college or university.
• TESOL or Bilingual Education endorsement/licensure.
• Compliance with Ohio Department of Education certification requirements for K-12.

Responsibilities

• Identify high expectations for all students with measurable goals aligned to the Ohio English Language Proficiency Standards (OELPS).
• Differentiate instruction based on students' linguistic proficiency and background.
• Use varied instructional strategies to make content comprehensible and engaging.
• Maintain a student-centered, culturally responsive classroom that supports language risk-taking.
• Use diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments to monitor language growth and academic progress.
• Collaborate with Teacher-Based Teams and PLCs to analyze data and improve practice.
• Deliver sheltered instruction using SIOP models and adapt curriculum for Emerging/Progressing/Transitioning levels.
• Administer OELPA/OELPS and maintain EL plans for all students on caseload.
• Co-teach with general ed teachers to ensure linguistic accessibility in core content.
• Engage EL families with meaningful communication about progress and activities.
• Lead Tier 2/3 interventions and integrate technology to support language learning.
• Participate in IEP/504 meetings to support students with disabilities.
