Responsibilities

Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and conducts various tasks within the bakery:

• Provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service to the Bakery department.
• Assist customers with bakery purchases.
• Clean shelving and display cases.
• Fill and rotate the self-serve displays.
• Work with customers to take special orders.
• Collaborate with the Baker to determine baking and decoration needs.
• Maintain cleanliness by hosing down the floors.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates should possess the ability to:

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic PC/Outlook skills.
• Retail Management Certificate.

Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required for all positions related to preparation, handling, and serving food.
