Job Title: Bilingual Spanish EL Resource Teacher/Interventionist (Grades K-5)

Location: Greenbrook Elementary School

Position Type: General Teaching / ESL

Employment Terms: 181 days per collective bargaining agreement with KEA

Reports to: Principal

Salary: See Article XII of the Keeneyville D20 Professional Negotiation Agreement 2024-28 (link)

Qualifications:

  • Professional Educator License with appropriate Elementary or Early Childhood endorsement and an Educator License with Stipulations (ELS)
  • Elementary Education – K through Grade 9

  • Bilingual Certification in Spanish required

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of content and pedagogy related to English Learners
  • Understand Illinois English Language Proficiency Standards for English Language Learners
  • Deep understanding of second language acquisition
  • Teach newcomers to the United States, incorporating multicultural awareness
  • Select appropriate individualized instructional goals based on WIDA and ELD Standards
  • Use resources effectively to support student learning
  • Design small group instruction aligned with Illinois Learning Standards and the Common Core
  • Assess and document student learning, growth, and mastery of standards
