Job summary

Sterling Construction Company, Inc. in El Paso, TX seeks an experienced Mechanic Superintendent to manage the maintenance and repair operations for a large heavy civil construction fleet supporting a major data center project.

You will lead about 45 mechanics and up to 14 lube technicians, supervise preventative maintenance, coordinate inspections, and partner with project teams to minimize downtime while upholding safety and quality.

Qualifications

5+ years of heavy equipment maintenance experience, preferably in heavy civil construction.
Experience leading or supervising mechanics and lube technicians.
Strong knowledge of diesel-powered heavy equipment and hydraulic systems.
Experience with preventive maintenance programs for large fleets.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the project maintenance department.
Supervise 45 mechanics and up to 14 lube technicians, including scheduling and performance management.
Oversee preventative maintenance programs to maximize uptime and reliability.
Coordinate inspections, repairs, troubleshooting, and scheduled maintenance.
Monitor fleet of over 240 heavy equipment pieces and coordinate with project teams to minimize downtime.
