Job summary

Omaha Public Schools North High School is seeking an English Learner Program (EL) Educational Paraprofessional. The role supports teachers, monitors student progress, and maintains records. Work August through May when students are in session.

Starting date is immediate, with a salary of $19.10 per hour and a 7-hour day, 185 duty days per year. Qualifications include an associate degree or equivalent credit hours, bilingual proficiency, confidentiality, and physical stamina.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 48 semester hours/72 quarter hours or demonstrated proficiency through testing.
• Ability to speak, read and write English and another language proficiently.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
• Ability to perform physical activities required for a full day in classroom settings.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce learning for individual students or small groups.
• Develop and maintain rapport with teachers and staff.
• Assist arrival and dismissal of students.
• Supervise students during lunch and recess periods.
• Assist with grading and reviewing homework as instructed by teachers.
• Monitor student performance data and maintain records.
