Qualifications

• Rhode Island teaching certificate required.
• TESOL eligibility and secondary content certification.
• Professional or Life Professional Certificate from RI DOE.
• Minimum three years of middle school teaching experience.
• At least five years of recent classroom teaching in the specified curriculum area.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the Director of English Learners and Principal to create agendas and records meeting notes for Team meetings.
• Organizes and schedules activities to coordinate with the school calendar.
• Uses data to drive instruction with curriculum leads.
• Communicates regularly with the Principal and Director of English Learners regarding cluster students and MTSS needs.
• Leads curriculum/ELD coordination and supports department articulation across levels.
• Mentors department teachers and assists in planning materials and assessments for long-term absences.
• Plans and facilitates WIDA Screener and ACCESS testing; manages testing materials.

Education

Rhode Island teaching certificate

TESOL eligibility (Rhode Island Secondary Certificate)

Professional or Life Professional Certificate from RI Department of Education

Three years of middle school teaching experience

Five years of recent classroom teaching experience in curriculum area
