Job description

We are seeking an EL/Controls Engineering Manager for Bausch Advanced Technologies, Inc. to work at our Clinton, CT location.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop programming code to control machine stations using technologies including PLC programming (Siemens & Rockwell), servo drives for motion control, vision systems (Cognex), safety devices (Pilz), and human-machine interface (HMI) design.
  2. Transfer software from development to operational stations, debug equipment, and develop safety software to meet safety requirements, including emergency stops and safety barriers.
  3. Review electrical designs to ensure device functionality and customer needs; include programming/parametrization of vision systems, robot cells, PLCs, HMIs, process recorders, and sensors.
  4. Support mechanical team during machine runs and validation, ensuring all documentation and testing meet standards. Post-approval, ensure equipment functionality, possibly through remote or onsite visits.
  5. Provide technical support for existing machinery, troubleshoot issues, and retrofit equipment to meet regulatory standards, including hardware updates and automation software development.
  6. Review and approve customer equipment specifications prior to purchase.
  7. Supervise controls department, manage project resources, organize workload, conduct training, perform annual reviews, and participate in hiring.
  8. Travel limited nationally and internationally as needed for customer site visits and service support.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical or medical manufacturing industry, or 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Skills in PLCs (including Bradley, Siemens, Panasonic) with at least 3 years of experience.
