Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso seeks an EKG Technician to perform routine electrocardiography, Holter monitoring, and stress testing under supervision. You will collect data for interpretations and assist with patient care across ages.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a Medical Assistant training program, CPR certification, and strong communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish encouraged.

• Facility University Medical Center of El Paso

Performs routine electrocardiography, holter monitoring, technically competent of exercise and pharmacologic stress testing and other special procedures. Collects information pertinent to the interpretation of the test. Provides care to patients of varying ages and age-related needs.

Required Skills:

• Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of an EKG Technician.


• Comprehensive knowledge, skills, and ability of routine Electrocardiography, holters and exercise, and pharmacological stress testing.


• Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.


• Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills.


• Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).


• Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.


• Knowledgeable of English grammar, punctuation and spelling.


• Ability to perform basic computer keyboard skills.
