Job summary

Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV is seeking an EKG Technician for PRN opportunities. The EKG Technician will provide diagnostic EKG services, adhere to department policies, and ensure patient data is assessed and interpreted accurately.

Knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan is expected. Qualifications include current BLS certification, a high school diploma or GED, familiarity with EKG rhythms, and basic computer skills.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The EKG Technician assumes responsibility for providing diagnostic EKG services. Adheres to policies and procedures in the assessment, implementation, and reporting of EKG services provided. The EKG Technician must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients served in his/her department. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Must possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to age-specific needs, and provide the care needed as described in the department’s policies and procedures.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current BLS certification
• High school graduate or GED equivalent
• Knowledge and recognition of EKG rhythms, arrhythmias and rhythm disturbances, signs of acute EKG changes such as infarct and ischemia.
• Minimum one year of acute care hospital experience preferred
• Will consider recent graduate of medical program at career academy.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• Basic computer skills required
