Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• EKG certification preferred.(Phlebotomist training required for EKG/Phlebotomist position).
• Certification or competency from previous employer as a Phlebotomist.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and cleans equipment; reports problems to supervisor.
• Performs routine EKGs on assigned units and responds to stat requests as necessary.
• Labels and ensures quality tracing for cardiologist interpretation.
• Inspects and restocks phlebotomy cart; follows safety procedures.
• Verifies patient identification and proper specimen labeling.
• Draws blood, labels specimens, records requisitions, and logs tests.
• Centrifuges specimens and maintains clean phlebotomy areas.
• Upholds infection control standards and patient service expectations.
