Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a dedicated EKG Technician to provide individualized patient care by performing high-quality 12-lead EKG tests and maintaining equipment. The role includes clerical duties and ensuring patient records are accurate and complete.

Required education is a high school diploma or equivalent with BLS certification; CCT is preferred. Shifts are 12-hour, including nights and weekends, with a rotating schedule in a healthcare setting.

This job provides individualized, direct patient care of assigned patients by performing quality 12 Lead electrocardiograph (EKG) tests. Maintains the cleanliness and maintenance of EKG equipment. Performs all clerical duties dictated by leadership.

Schedule

(3) 12-hr shifts per week: 5:15PM- 5:15AM; rotating weekends

Education

Required – High school diploma or equivalent.

Certifications

Required – Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

Preferred – Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT).

Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
