Job summary

Tenet Healthcare is seeking a per diem EKG tech with proficiency in EKGs and the ability to assist with exercise and pharmacological stress tests. You will prepare patients, place leads, and monitor during procedures while ensuring accurate documentation and reporting to clinical staff.

The role requires high school completion (associate degree preferred), plus BLS certification and potential ACLS for stress testing, with a hospital environment background being advantageous.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in physical or biological science preferred.
• 1 year hospital experience preferred; training provided.
• AHA BLS certification required; ACLS required for stress testing.

Responsibilities

• Proficiency in EKG and at least one of the following: cerebral EEG, stress tests, and outpatient EEG recordings.
• Assist physician in exercising and pharmacological stress tests.
• Prepare patients including lead placement and instruction.
• Monitor patient throughout procedure and observe for changes in condition.
• Participate in report generation, charting, and delivery of reports to staff assistant.
• Maintain excellent communication with co-workers, hospital staff, and physicians.
• Perform routine EKGs and scan Holters if rhythm recognition competency is demonstrated.

Per Diem, Rotate

This position requires proficiency in EKG and at least one of the following:

• Responsible for procurement of routine and cerebral silence, STAT and outpatient EEG recordings.
• Responsible for assisting physician in performing exercise and pharmacological stress tests.
• Performs patient preparation to include lead placement, patient instruction/education.
• Monitors patient throughout procedure and observes for changes in patient condition.
• Participates in report generation, as well as charting and delivery of reports to staff assistant for processing.
• Requires excellent communication skills among co-workers, hospital staff, and physicians.
• Also performs routine EKG's upon successful completion of competencies.
• This position may scan holters if competency is demonstrated in rhythm recognition

EDUCATION:

• Minimum: High School diploma or Equivalent
• Preferred: Associate's degree in physical or biological science.

EXPERIENCE:

• Prefer one (1) year previous hospital experience, but will train.
• Prefer certified EKG tech/course or EEG course

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:

• AHA BLS certification required; AHA ACLS required for stress testing
