HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital is seeking a Monitor Technician to join our nursing team. Under supervision, you will monitor patient EKG rhythms, document findings, and support efficient unit operations.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, completed EKG course, BLS certification, and strong communication skills; 1 year of experience is preferred. This role emphasizes patient-centered care in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED equivalent required.
• Successful completion of an EKG course and exam.
• Current BLS required on all nursing clinical units; BLS/BCLS issued by AHA or American Red Cross required.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read/comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal instructions; PC skills; knowledge of indications and adverse reactions of cardiac IV medications.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• 1 Year experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Runs, documents and analyzes rhythm strips on all patients according to unit standards.
• Documents rhythm changes and places strip in chart; notifies RN/Charge RN/LPN as appropriate.
• Responds to monitor alarms; notifies RN/Charge RN/LPN of changes in patient rhythm or lead status.
• Troubleshoots monitoring equipment and notifies biomed of unresolved issues.
• Contributes to patient-centered care by ensuring a quiet, healing environment.
