Job summary

Fisher Arnold seeks a team-oriented EIT Transportation Engineer to join our Tallahassee, FL office. The role supports design and plans production for transportation projects under supervision.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering degree from an ABET-accredited university and aims to obtain a PE license in the future. 0–4 years of experience is preferred, with strong communication and CAD skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• 0–4 years of experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license in the future.
• Passed Fundamentals Exam (FE) or the ability to achieve certification.
• Knowledge of CADD (MicroStation and OpenRoads design programs preferred).
• Strong oral and written communications skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, perform basic duties in support of project engineers and managers.
• Independently perform engineering assignments with clear objectives.
• Perform engineering calculations.
• Assist updates to drawings and plans in CADD software.
• Coordinate approvals with the Project Manager from Florida DOT and agencies.
• Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Under close supervision and following specific instructions, performs basic duties in support of the project engineers and managers
• Independently perform engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives
• Perform Engineering Calculations
• Assist engineers in making updates to drawings and plans in CADD software
• Work with Project Manager in obtaining approvals from the Florida DOT and various agencies
• Other duties as assigned
