Job summary

Sappi Somerset is hiring an Environmental, Health, and Safety Technician in Skowhegan, Maine. This entry to early-mid level role works with established EHS professionals, combining field and office work to support safety programs at the Somerset Mill.

Responsibilities include assisting with Industrial Hygiene programs, environmental compliance, and the stormwater program while developing leadership and project management skills. A college degree in health and safety or engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

• College degree (Health and Safety or Engineering preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills appreciated.
• Experience in Environmental, Health & Safety fields is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Safety Professionals with the management of the site Industrial Hygiene programs.
• Assist Environmental Professionals with environmental compliance and permits.
• Collect, manage, and interpret mandatory Safety & Health data.
• Assist Environmental Professionals with stormwater program inspections and sampling.
• Support Emergency Response Team and related health and safety programs.
• Help with environmental risk assessments for proposed mill systems.
