Job summary

MilliporeSigma is hiring an Environmental, Health and Safety Technician in the Madison area (three sites) and Verona. The role focuses on inspections, regulatory compliance, and supporting EHS programs to protect people and the environment.

Expect responsibilities around training, incident investigations, waste management, and emergency planning. A High School Diploma or GED is required, with strong computer literacy and communications skills preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office and Outlook, EDMS) preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills preferred.
• Mechanical and technical aptitude.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• High level of internal motivation; capable of multitasking with attention to detail.
• Basic chemistry knowledge from work experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections to ensure equipment and processes meet regulatory requirements.
• Provide training on departmental processes (hot work, line breaks) and conduct incident investigations.
• Assist in reducing risk to employees, contractors, and environment; participate in drills and emergency planning.
• Monitor EHS materials (PPE, air quality, waste disposal) and ensure PPE compliance.
• Understand and document federal/state regulations; label and sign DOT hazmat certifications as needed.
• Support EHS programs and regulatory reporting (air, storm water, wastewater, hazardous waste, TRI, Tier II).
