Texas A&M University is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Technician I in College Station, TX. The role supports the EHS program under supervision, performing tasks to gain knowledge and contribute to safety and compliance.

Responsibilities include fume hood testing, inspections, hazard identification, waste management, and records reporting, with training and emergency response participation as needed.

Qualifications

• High School graduation or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Entry-level position with on-the-job training.
• Must have a Class C vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Tests chemical fume hoods using qualitative and quantitative methods and generates reports.
• Visually inspects hoods and reports mechanical malfunctions for repairs.
• Updates BioRAFT with current user and equipment information.
• Submits repair requests for fume hood repairs and tracks progress.
• Learns and assists with routine EHS tasks, inspections, hazard identifications, and waste practices.
• Maintains records of inspections and prepares reports.
• Participates in training and development opportunities.
• Responds with EHS staff to emergencies as needed.
