Job summary

Knowles is seeking an EHS Technician to support environmental, health, and safety programs. You will conduct inspections, identify hazards, assist with regulatory compliance, and maintain safety records to foster a strong safety culture.

Collaborating with employees, supervisors, and management, you will help ensure a safe, compliant workplace and participate in training, PPE oversight, and emergency preparedness activities as needed.

Qualifications

• OSHA regulations knowledge and safe practices.
• 1–3 years in EHS, safety, manufacturing, construction, laboratory, or industrial setting preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; higher degree preferred.
• Proficiency with data/document management and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine workplace safety inspections and hazard assessments.
• Identify unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with incident, injury, and near-miss investigations.
• Maintain OSHA-required records, inspection reports, and EHS documentation.
• Support implementation and enforcement of company safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct or assist with employee safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks.
• Monitor PPE requirements and ensure PPE is available and used.
• Assist with emergency preparedness, evacuation drills, and response procedures.
• Perform environmental inspections and assist with waste management and spill prevention programs.
• Support compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable regulations.
• Track corrective actions and ensure timely completion.
• Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical inventories.
• Assist with audits, regulatory inspections, and internal EHS assessments.
• Prepare safety reports, metrics, and other documentation for management.
• Promote employee awareness of safe work practices and environmental responsibilities.

A. PRIMARY FUNCTION:

D. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

E. QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in EHS, occupational safety, environmental science, or a related field preferred.
2. 1-3 years of experience in an EHS, safety, manufacturing, construction, laboratory, or industrial environment preferred.
3. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and general workplace safety practices.
4. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
5. Ability to conduct inspections and work effectively with employees at all levels.
6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic data/document management.
7. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
8. Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
