Eaton in Greenwood, SC is seeking an onsite EHS Technician to support MESH initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA/EPA/SCDHEC standards.

You will work with management and facilities to drive safety, environmental performance, and training, including incident investigations and risk assessments, using tools like SharePoint and Excel.

Role is onsite with a base salary range and eligible for a variable incentive program; salary guidelines may adjust with experience and market conditions.

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking an onsite EHS Technician at our facility in Greenwood, SC.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $47000 - $69000 a year.

This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

In the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Technician role, you will be responsible for assisting with the implementation and deployment of the (Management System of Environmental, Safety, Security and Health) MESH initiatives. This includes all EHS activities involving EHS systems and processes such as OSHA guidelines and EPA/SCDHEC environmental/permit regulated compliance standards, reporting and communication of EHS metrics, collection, organization of EHS action items, supporting EHS training initiatives, supporting incident investigations, and supporting site internal assessment activities. This position will support and promote a zero incident EHS culture throughout the site.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• You will contribute to a safe, engaged, and inclusive work culture by complying with all safety and environmental requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties.
• You will assist with the implementation of MESH (Management System of Environmental, Safety, Security and Health) and will utilize MESH tools to drive improvements by participating in MESH Teams.
• You will work closely with management, engineering, and facility employees at all levels to facilitate, and/or assist teams in achieving department and plant goals as related to MESH, both safety standards and environmental compliance.
• Supports site and workstation risk assessment development at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects.
• Supports assigned departments as main point of contact for EHS matters. Support includes driving incident investigations, addressing safety concerns and participating in CI events.
• Acts as MESH Champion Subject Matter Expert for assigned elements, addressing standing MESH assessment actions, and assists with driving ownership of MESH Program for other champions.
• Hands‑on support of regulatory and MESH compliance through inspections and auditing. Leading and problem‑solving corrective actions on basic findings and concerns.
• Supports EHS engagement through EHS initiatives and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year.
• Creates training matrixes and supports training sessions to ensure that all training is defined, completed, and tracked in accordance with an annual plan.
• Ability to perform tasks quickly and effectively using Eaton digital tools, i.e. Benchmark, EASE, MESHPrism, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, etc.

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have completed a two-year technical degree program OR completed Associates Degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• No relocation is offered. Candidates must currently reside within a 50-mile radius of Greenwood, SC to be considered. Active‑Duty Military are exempt from this geographical limitation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2 years of experience in Environmental, Health & Safety industry OR an Associates Degree/progression towards a four‑year degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline, or technical field.
• Additional knowledge and/or experience participating in projects, conducting analysis for root cause identification, and understanding how to identify problems and reach resolutions is beneficial.
• Must be proficient with computer programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and other database functions for reporting and analysis.
