II. Job Summary:

Provide a safe and healthy working environment for all employees. Implement improvement systems in order to eliminate work-related injuries and ensuring all employees are educated in safe work conditions, practices, and safety requirements. Manage and monitor a solid and effective safety program, encompassing environmental, safety and health policies and procedures. Responsible for the safe operation and protection of all facility assets.

III. Job Functions and Duties
NO. Representative Duties
  • 1 Safety in the Work Environment:
    • 1.1 Evaluate work environment to ensure safe practices are established to prevent injuries, accidents, and eliminate work hazards.
    • 1.2 Design and implement safety program to include PPE, hearing protection and noise mapping, heat stress, LOTO, confined space, hot permit program, electrical safety and fork truck safety, as part of the initial implementation plan.
    • 1.3 Provide safety direction and/or guidance to on-site contractors to ensure compliance with FGA safety rules, policies, and procedures.
  • 2 Accident/Injury Investigation:
    • 2.1 Conduct accident investigations immediately upon notice of accident and/or injury; complete within 24 hours at the latest.
    • 2.2 Document interviews with employees and witnesses to the accident/injury.
    • 2.3 Identify root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
    • 2.4 Communicate details of accident and/or injury to Human Resources Director and President.
    • 2.5 Complete and submit, if necessary, worker's compensation report, OSHA log, and other regulatory agencies, including environmental reporting.
    • 2.6 Update and maintain injury and accident statistics to evaluate performance level of program.
  • 3 Establish a Culture of Safety:
    • 3.1 Instill a culture of safety throughout the organization.
    • 3.2 Conduct contractor safety training to ensure contractors comply with FGA safety rules, procedures, policies, and perform work in a safe manner.
    • 3.3 Provide integrated solutions to potential safety hazards.
    • 3.4 Act as a EHS resource to plant management.
    • 3.5 Provide technical support and assist in resolving safety issues to aid production and maintenance goals.
  • 4 Industrial Hygiene Program:
    • 4.1 Establish areas of industrial hygiene sampling and monitoring.
    • 4.2 Establish an annual schedule to conduct industrial sampling, including noise sampling.
    • 4.3 Complete and monitor sampling schedule to ensure a safe working environment.
    • 4.4 Immediately implement corrective actions where samplings are out of range.
  • 5 Safety Training:
    • 5.1 Design and implement safety training for New Hire Orientation.
    • 5.2 Ensure employee understanding of EHS policies and procedures.
    • 5.3 Test and re-test for understanding and compliance.
    • 5.4 Monitor training courses for attendance and compliance for each employee.
  • 6 Project Management: Manages, evaluates, and implements appropriate projects that reduce costs, reduces accidents and injuries, and contributes to improved performance of the safety program.

Job Requirements Language

Languages spoken commonly in the workplace are English and Mandarin. - Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership and customers.

Experience

1 to 3 years manufacturing experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Education

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Physical Condition

The employee is regularly required o stand for long periods. Duties include turning at the waist, reaching, bending, squatting and lifting up to 50 pounds. Ability to pass static strength requirements (grip).
Visual acuity including, but not limited to:
a. NEAR ACUITY - Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less. Use this factor when special and minute accuracy is demanded.
b. FAR ACUITY - Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. Use this factor when visual efficiency in terms of far acuity is required in day and night/dark conditions.
c. DEPTH PERCEPTION - Three-dimensional vision. Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships so as to see objects where and as they actually are.
d. COLOR VISION - Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
e. FIELD OF VISION - Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.
