  • CSP, CRSP, CIH, or P.E. certifications are a plus.

Pay range: $125,000 - $157,000 | Annual bonus

We are looking for a EHS Specialist Sr. II to join our Global Business Services - North American Occupational Safety Expert Services team in the US.

As an EHS Specialist you will be a member of the Occupational Safety Expert Services Team. The purpose of the role is to provide proven expertise in Occupational Safety and Industrial Hygiene through effective and pragmatic solutions/services to our Partners that enables/supports keeping our employees, property, and processes safe and achieving OSIH Excellence.

  • Providing strategic leadership, you will work with Businesses and Global Safety (COR) to identify OS issues, recommendations, and opportunities to foster continuous improvement of EHS programs and culture in North America. Utilize data-driven insights to inform strategic direction.
  • Supporting and influencing Leadership at all levels including Operators, Supervisors, Managers, Sr Leaders, and Executives. You will interface frequently with senior leadership up through the Managing Director. Advocate for continuous improvement and drive organizational transformation.
  • Providing expert guidance on policy and decision making with development and implementation of corporate EHS policies and procedures (examples include Control of Hazardous Energy, Safe Work Permit, Job Safety Analysis, Incident/Accident investigation, Training, etc.). In line with this, you will develop Legal Entity requirements and Guidance documents.
  • Leading others on high-impact projects with organization-wide influence via multi-OD represented projects as well as project management for developing and implementing strategic initiatives. Foster cross-functional collaboration to achieve organizational goals.
  • Using your working knowledge of requirements, regulations, hazard recognition, etc., to provide site support for ongoing compliance assurance and periodic focused support during internal corporate audits.
  • Analyzing and resolving complex, multi-faceted issues. Innovate and improve existing processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or Science discipline. M.S. is a plus.
  • Have 10+ years' experience in manufacturing with direct interaction/support of technical aspects of Occupational Safety and Industrial Hygiene.
  • Possess a CSP, CRSP, CIH, P.E. a plus.
  • Are able and willing to travel 25% of the time.

Pay transparency

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive pay range for this role is $125,000 - $157,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
