Job description

Position Summary

Support the development, implementation, and enforcement of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs to ensure regulatory compliance, workplace safety, and environmental sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating and managing EHS, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, and occupational health programs.
  • Partner with employees and contractors to promote safe behaviors and support Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) initiatives.
  • Identify and address safety concerns proactively.
  • Maintain EHS records, track incidents, and support compliance reporting.
  • Conduct and participate in safety inspections, audits, and emergency drills.
  • Help deliver EHS training and maintain Safety Data Sheets.
  • Support compliance with PSM, RMP, environmental, and waste management regulations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and employee engagement efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a science-related field and 1-3 years of EHS experience (chemical industry preferred). Education can substitute for experience (up to 5 years).
  • Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910; ISO 14001 familiarity is a plus.
  • Able to wear PPE and perform physical tasks (lifting, climbing, kneeling).
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Able to work independently and travel 10-15%.
