James Avery Artisan Jewelry seeks an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) professional to oversee programs across employees, facilities, manufacturing and retail stores. Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and support to employees and management with continuous improvements in workplace safety practices, regulatory requirements, environmental compliance and organizational standards.
  • Promote proactive reporting of hazards, near misses, and leading safety indicators to support a proactive safety culture.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify potential health and safety concerns, implement effective solutions and drive process improvements.
  • Monitor and track safety performance, analyze trends, maintain EHS records, and prepare reports for all levels of the organization.
  • Maintain EHS documentation, procedures, permits, and associated management systems to ensure accurate recordkeeping and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct and support hazard and risk assessments, industrial hygiene activities, and environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
  • Lead and conduct incident and accident investigations, including coordination, review, root cause analysis, and follow-through of corrective actions.
  • Identify, interpret, and explain EHS regulations, programs, and safety equipment use.
  • Develop and conduct training programs promoting employee involvement and strong safety culture.

Identifies potential health and safety issues, proposes corrective actions and process changes and ensures compliance with Company policy and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Provide guidance and support to employees and management with continuous improvements in workplace safety practices, regulatory requirements, environmental compliance and organizational standards.
  • Promote proactive reporting of hazards, near misses, and leading safety indicators to support a proactive safety culture.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and leadership and location management to identify potential health and safety concerns, implement effective solutions and drive process improvements that reduce risk and enhance operational safety.
  • Monitor and track safety performance, analyze trends, maintain EHS records, and prepare reports for all levels of the organization.
  • Maintain EHS documentation, procedures, permits, and associated management systems to ensure accurate recordkeeping and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct and support hazard and risk assessments, industrial hygiene activities, and environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
  • Design, develop, improve, and implement safety processes and procedures.
  • Lead and conduct incident and accident investigations, including coordination, review, root cause analysis, and follow-through of corrective and preventive actions, to identify causes, mitigate risks, and improve organizational safety performance.
  • May participate in Health & Safety Committees and monitor safety trends when supporting facilities and/or manufacturing.
  • Conduct on-site audits, inspections and coaching to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, standards and Company policies to prevent hazards, accidents or environmental impacts.
  • Identify, interpret, and explain EHS regulations, programs, and safety equipment use.
  • Develop and conduct training programs promoting employee involvement and strong safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state and federal regulations; prevent potential accidents, hazards or environmental conditions.
  • Provides environmental oversight of wastewater treatment facilities when assigned.
  • Supports team members with other areas of responsibilities and performs additional duties as assigned.

WHAT IS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 5 years’ experience in environmental, health and safety.
  • Must have valid State Driver's License and be able to meet James Avery’s driving requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance.
  • Ability to travel to various work locations as needed-Corp & MFG/Ability to travel up to 75% including overnight and out of state travel, to conduct onsite audits and assist with EHS events-Retail.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or related field.
  • Experience in environmental, health and safety in multi-store retail or manufacturing environment.
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation.
  • Experience with Riskonnect Incident Management software.
